bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils

Its one of my favourite lines from that movie – can you guess which one? – so when I found these pencils at my local Kmart I just knew they were destined to become a bouquet.

They are not freshly sharpened though, but I don't think that matters!

back in the saddle

After a very long hiatus - more than 12 months in fact - we're back at the Rose Street market. Last Sunday was our third in a row, and we've found the response to our new venture, vintage prints, very positive.

Nearly everyone falls in love with the envelopes – sometimes they can't quite believe that we hand make them ourselves. As they flick through the envelopes people usually exclaim, "Oh they are soooo cute!" On the first Sunday back at Rose Street we sold almost 30 individual envelopes – the most we've sold at any one market. 

We've applied for dates from February through to May, so fingers crossed we can get a regular gig at Rose Street. I think it would be the perfect market for our Harris Tweed handbags once we all have Autumn on our mind.

the fork in the road

I started the year with very good intentions. I drafted a blog post on 3 January, intent on returning to regular posting. But, the post wasn't posted. I changed my mind. I'm still not sure which fork to take. Keep this blog or start a new one. What do you think?

The start of 2011 sees me/us at that proverbial fork in the road. Which one do we take?

After three-plus years as greenolive (avec husband) and dabbling in scarves, handbags & screenprinted textiles and taking a side-step into vintage prints (much more closely aligned with my graphic designer past), I'm making some changes. Greenolive has morphed into vintage prints. But don't worry, there will still be scarves & accessories, but with a greater emphasis on vintage. And the screenprinting is back on the agenda, but again with a vintage flavour.
