I'm glad Mr greenolive got the joke!
When I saw this original drawing by Aunty Cookie at Magnolia Square on Saturday I just HAD to buy it!
(Do you think she had see how much wool I have in my stash? I think its well over 1000 balls/skeins. Maybe even 1500. I'm a bit afraid to count it, and you now know how much I like counting things!)
It has become a running joke in our house. I don't need any more wool. I have quite enough to last this lifetime and perhaps another. But I just can't help myself. Rachel explained it beautifully in her recent post titled Knitting inspiration. Each time I come back with more (it was on sale, it was the perfect shade of green, it will go with that other wool, I didn't have enough for that project) Mr greenolive now just smiles a small, knowing smile.
In the past he has caught me leaving bags of wool in the boot, waiting til he's gone out before I bring it into the house. I then try and hide it among the ever-growing stash. Sometime he catches me out though. Spying something that wasn't there yesterday he'll say: oh, did we get some wool did we? (In a very sarcastic tone. A bit like Basil Fawlty. Apparently the English like sarcasm. I don't.) I really didn't think he'd be able to distinguish new wool in the stash from old wool but apparently he can. His observation powers also include fabrics, magazines and clothes.
So, when I brought this drawing home and showed it to him he laughed. Thank God. He got the joke. He understands.
At the market I met Shannon (aka Aunty Cookie). I confessed to "stalking" her in my first mixtape column. Thankfully she wasn't concerned.
I also met one of her roadies, Samantha. Within 24hrs she had already left a comment (thanks!) and mentioned me in her blog post (with a link no doubt!).
Seems people are enjoying the mixtape column. And thank you to those of you who have found my blog after reading mixtape. I might post the column here on the blog, cause some of you won't have purchased the first issue. You'd better hurry and get the second one. The first 30 copies are limited editions with lots of extra goodies!
Oh, I also got some cupcakes. They were fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. So I had to buy four. That's another story. Maybe for later.
went to the mixtape site - how do I go about securing the second copy? I'm a newbie to these things! help! thanks :0)

The passionfruit ones look lovely! I'm now in the habit of baking cupcakes for my tutor group on the last day of term, so they get reports and a cupcake!
They are all rather sweet about it and some of them get so excited, which makes me happy.
