We made this groovy set of magnets from old wooden puzzle pieces. Not only are they recycled, nice to look at, and stick notes and takeaway menus to the fridge, BUT they also help develop fine motor skills. (At least that's what the mothers who buy them tell me!)
At markets, we stick the magnets to a metal display board propped up on the floor. The colours and shapes draw the kids in and its great to see them pulling magnets off and practising their words: car, truck, duck, monkey...
The magnets are proving popular with kids of all ages. If you are a local, you can come and play with them at Rose Street market this weekend. Or you can get your hands on some via our online shop.
